Partisan is interested in reviews and essays about arts and culture. The editors prefer the sort of criticism that writers too often have trouble placing elsewhere: trenchant, opinionated, entertaining pieces that privilege stylish, energetic prose aimed at both the general reader and the connoisseur. Partisan doesn't consider unsolicited poems and doesn't publish fiction.
